Penny and her partner knew from the outset that they wanted a grey split face tile, but all the tiles they sourced were either too light or too dark. Coincidentally, both Penny and her partner found the silver grey split face - large separately, so it was an easy choice!
Penny said, 'We both liked that the tones of the silver grey quartzite stone are a mix of grey and silver, which provides more depth to the colouring.'
They did an amazing job of stripping out an outdated fireplace which had been condemned, and building their new feature TV wall and fireplace all on their own!
They demolished the old fireplace in January and then created the new one using concrete blocks and fire-proof plaster board. The whole process took around two months, as they both work full time they could only work on it at weekends.
I’m sure you’ll agree that they have transformed their fireplace and it looks absolutely fantastic.
